WHAT IS A SKINCARE ROUTINE?
A skincare routine is a list of beauty products you regularly apply on your face for different purposes.
These are the main benefits a skincare can provide and an explanation of their interest:
- Cleansing
The skincare will remove impurities from the surface of your skin. Those impurities can be dirt, dead cells, sweat, pollutants, ... It is the first step of your routine in the morning. In the evening, it should happen first as well or after makeup removal (for people applying makeup only).
- Hydrating or Moisturizing
The skincare product will provide hydration to your skin from water based or oiled based product. This will help retain water in the outer layers of your skin and give a smoother and more plumped look to your skin. No matter your skin type (dry, oily, acne-prone, …), your skin needs to be hydrated. For example, oily skin is usually a sign of compromised barrier function. Meaning, the skin loses moisture and in response is producing more oil (sebum). The key solution is to provide the proper hydration and moisture to your skin.
